A classic wine? Sort of comparable to a pair of black wool trousers or a great fitting jacket. Consistent and fabulous each and every time. Charles Krug is the oldest winery in Napa Valley – established 150 years ago. I would say that’s pretty classic – consider them the Chanel of winemaking.

The 2009 Charles Krug Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon is a great example of consistency and quality – at an exceptional price point. That’s what happens when you are in the game for this long, you own the land and perfect your techniques. You aren’t paying that extra money to pay off a mortgage or for fancy marketing gimmicks.

This wine is full-bodied yet really plush on the palate. Dark cherry and raspberries on the palate – hints of chocolate and mocha. A rich and silky Cab that really delivers with each sip.

Love this Cab with steak (what is more classic than that or just on its own. A great go to bottle to have on your list for dinner with guests, for a great gift or just to enjoy on your own.
