Rias Baixas is a region that we find so enticing and exciting, particularly during the summer months when our palate tends to turn more towards brighter, crisper white wines that are both delicious and refreshing. Albarino is the primary white grape grown in this region, making it known for the beautiful, elegant whites produced under this same name.

The 2010 Laxas Albarino is the perfect example of what beautifully balanced whites come out of the Rias Baixas region. Floral and bright on the nose with notes of white flowers and lime zest.  Stone fruit, green apple and peach on the palate with a defined minerality adding complexity and a crisp, refreshing finish. It is completely amazing on its own – delicate and refreshing, the perfect wine to enjoy on a warm summer night. This would be amazing with oysters or scallops, or any sort of lighter fish.We are currently in the process of building a deck in our backyard and this wine may very well  be the light at the end of the tunnel – knowing that soon we will be  sitting out back, with a bottle of this killer Albarino, enjoying an evening “out”, no babysitter necessary.
