Two amazing new wines we recently got in, for those that love big fruit and rich red blends, these are both excellent choices. Cheers!

2009 Abstract Red Wine (Napa Valley)

Those that have been steadfast fans of The Prisoner, you are in luck. Another wonderful wine brought to us by winemaker Dave Phinney and I must say, at a very reasonable price point. This is the inaugural vintage and first release of 2009 Abstract Red Wine (Napa Valley). A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Petit Sirah, this wine boosts big, lush dark berry fruit balanced with layers of red fruit. Rich, some nice complexity and a smooth, long finish. A little more understated in style, which I found very refreshing. This is a killer wine at this price point and those who have enjoyed some of his other wines should give this one a try for sure.

The unique label is actually a photograph of decopage art that Dave himself has been creating over the years.

2009 Charles & Charles Red (Columbia Valley)

This is the new vintage of Charles and Charles Red and I can easily say this is joining the ranks of my favorite wines that are great quality and excellent value. This wine also is reflective of the almost perfect growing season in 2009 that Columbia Valley experienced. Big fruit flavor, smooth, rich texture and a little bit of spice on the finish. This is a big bang for your buck kind of wine that you will go back to again and again.

The label features winemakers Charles Bieler and Charles Smith.
